Omega Nannies began with a conversation. After Megan's parents relocated to the Garden Route, her father met Danica's husband at a charity golf day. Danica and Megan were introduced, and it was quickly clear they shared the same frustration with childcare in South Africa, and the same idea of how to do it better.
They came at it from two sides. Danica had spent years in education as the owner of a school, working with children of every age and ability, including those with additional needs. She knew what parents look for and what genuinely good care looks like. Megan had worked closely with nannies and, from a younger generation, understood what carers need to feel valued and supported. Together they wanted a company that puts families first and invests properly in the women who care for them.
There is a personal thread too. Megan grew up with a brother who has special needs, so she has always understood how much the right support matters, to the child and to the whole family.
As they spoke to families, especially those travelling to South Africa, the gap was obvious. Parents wanted childcare they could completely trust, and finding highly trained, reliable nannies was hard, harder still for a child with additional needs. Families deserved better than that.
We also set out to change how nannies are treated. Not as temporary staff, but as careers, with training, ongoing support, room to grow, and a community where they are respected. Good care starts with carers who feel valued.
At the heart of it is a simple belief. Childhood is short, and families only get a handful of holidays together before their children grow up. Our job is to give parents the freedom to enjoy those, while their children are safe, happy and well looked after.

The two of us run this personally. Every nanny is interviewed by one of us, and when you speak to Omega Nannies, you are speaking to a founder, not a call centre.
Danica brings years of experience in education. In 2020 she founded Danlyn Academiya, a private academy in George offering personalised, multi-curriculum schooling for grades 1 to 12, with small classes and a focus on learners who thrive outside mainstream schooling. Working with children of every age and ability, including those with additional needs, she understands what parents look for and what exceptional care and teaching should look like. That grounding shapes how we assess and match every nanny.

Megan runs recruitment, vetting, training and family placements day to day, and holds the safeguarding and service standards that everything else rests on. Her childcare experience is hands-on and international — she worked as a full-time Child Care Specialist and au pair in the United States with EurAupair, caring for children in a private household, managing school routines and daily schedules, and planning their learning and activities. It is the standard she now screens other nannies against. She is also our Information Officer, responsible for how we handle your personal information under POPIA.

What We Believe
Your child's safety and your confidence and peace of mind are our main concern. Every nanny is interviewed in person, cleared through a comprehensive SAPS background and criminal record check, first aid certified, and reference checked with at least three previous employers. You can read the full process on our vetting page.
We are referral and invitation only. Every nanny reaches us through a direct professional referral and is screened before they are ever offered to a family. It is a slower way to build a team, and it is the reason we can stand behind every name.
