Yes. Our nannies travel with families on safari and other trips within South Africa. She minds the children during game drives, early mornings and downtime, so you can relax. Travel, accommodation and overnight fees are agreed upfront. Many Western and Eastern Cape reserves are malaria-free, which suits young children.

Tell us the reserve and dates and we will confirm a nanny who is comfortable travelling and used to active days.

We provide event nannies for weddings in Franschhoek and across the Winelands. One or more nannies mind the children during the ceremony and reception, run age-appropriate activities, and handle meals and bedtime, so parents and guests can enjoy the day. Book early, as Winelands wedding season fills up fast.

In South Africa the two terms overlap, and "au pair" is the more common search word. Broadly, a nanny focuses on hands-on care, routines and younger children, while an au pair often drives, helps with homework and does school runs for older kids. Yes, always. Under our Meet-First Commitment you speak with the nanny by video call before you travel, or meet in person before a placement starts. There is no obligation to go ahead. We would rather you say no early than feel unsure when she arrives on the first day.

The call is a chance to cover routines, allergies, house rules and anything specific to your children.

Every Omega nanny holds a current first aid certificate before we place them. Our current provider is Safe Kids and covers Infant and Child CPR, Choking and Basic First Aid course and renewed every two years. Standards across the wider market vary, so always ask an agency to show proof rather than take a claim on trust.

The CPR content follows Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa protocols. We keep certificates on file and require re-certification every two years.

A SAPS Police Clearance Certificate is an official document from the South African Police Service confirming a person has no relevant criminal record. For childcare it is a fundamental safety check. We require a clear certificate on file before any nanny is placed with a family, so you are not relying on our word.

English is standard across our roster, and we work with visiting families from the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and beyond. A bilingual nanny or travel companion, fluent in a requested second language such as French or German, is available as an add-on tier. Tell us the language and dates.

This tier carries a premium on the base rate. We confirm availability and the exact cost when you enquire.

Many do, and a driver's licence is useful for school runs, outings and getting between the beaches, Winelands and town. Some families need a driving nanny, others do not. Tell us if it matters for your placement and we will match a nanny who holds a valid licence.

Let us know the vehicle arrangement too, whether she drives your car or her own.

Both cover the night, in different ways. A night nanny handles feeds, settling, nappy changes and bedtime routines so you sleep, while a night nurse has clinical training for medical needs.

Our Night Nanny service covers newborn support and overnight routines. Tell us exactly what your baby needs, and we will match the right nanny and confirm the add-on cost.

Ask specifically, and ask what that experience means in practice. Our Special Needs and Teaching Nanny service covers additional learning, developmental and care needs. We have nannies with relevant experience, including a qualified preschool teacher who has worked with additional needs. Tell us your child's needs and we match accordingly.
